After successfully providing universal health insurance to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Prime Minister Imran Khan has hinted at providing similar insurance coverage to the population of Punjab province too in near future.

Yesterday, while talking to a private media channel PM Khan addressed several important issues. One of the topics he shed light on was the negative publicity propagated against the government by opposition parties and some media houses with "vested interests."

Khan said that the government isn't given due credit for the good work. He pointed out the PTI government's projects like the Ten billion tree initiative, initiation of Diamer and Bhasha dams, Ehsaas program, and Insaf health cards, etc. were not appreciated nearly enough by the government's critics.

Being most proud of the universal health insurance given by the PTI-led KP government, PM Khan showed his intention to provide similar health insurance to Punjab. He said:

"The universal health insurance scheme we provided in Pakhtunkhwa, we intend to replicate it in Punjab soon. We have already given health cards to hundreds of thousands of families in Punjab and we intend to provide health coverage to the whole population of the province."

He further added:

"What we have done in KP is unprecedented even in several first world nations. The health insurance not only is restricted to government hospitals, the citizens can cash it in private hospitals too. Every family is provided with Rs.1 million health insurance every year."

Last week, Punjab's health minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid had also announced that the provincial government was planning to scale up the Insaf health card scheme. The minister said the target of universal health coverage would be achieved as per the vision of PM Imran Khan and hinted at health coverage of over 10 million families in near future.
