“Children are being raped and culprits are moving freely, will not spare anybody"
LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan has on Wednesday taken strict notice of the prize money announced for police over motorway gang rape prime suspect Abid Malhi’s arrest.
Justice Qasim Khan said in his remarks that will the police officers now perform their duty for getting prizes. It is a new custom that the Punjab government has started, the chief justice said.
“Children are being raped and culprits are moving freely. Police was unable to arrest Abid Malhi. Is it not police’s duty to arrest suspects? The court will not spare anybody involved in negligence,” Justice Qasim Khan added.
It is pertinent here to mention that Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar had announced prize money of five million rupees after Abid Malhi was arrested. He also expressed satisfaction over the performance of police in the case. NNI
