- The number of new COVID-19 cases exceeded 6 million in the USA.
As of today, 6,096,235 cases have been confirmed in the country as 49,601 tested positive for the viral disease in the last 24 hours. To date, a total of 185,901 Americans have succumbed to the viral disease with 1,105 dying in the last 24 hours.
- India reported its highest single-day tally of new cases yesterday.
The second most populous nation is still grappling with the novel Coronavirus infection as a surge has been seen in the past couple of months. In fact, India has been consistently reporting the most number of new cases among all the nations for the past few weeks making it the current epicenter of the viral infection in the world.
Yesterday, the country reported 76,665 newly confirmed cases. It's the highest ever single-day tally for the country. India's tally was also the highest in the world in the past 24 hours. So far, over 3,461,240 Indians have tested positive for the flu bug.
- The French government has made wearing masks in public mandatory again as a spike in new cases is seen in the country.
Over 5,000 new Coronavirus cases were reported in France in the last 24 hours, which has made the government worry and now no one can go out in public without wearing masks. French authorities had lifted the mask restriction after a dip in new cases but now the restriction is back on and social distancing is also advised to the public by the government.
