Of late, a global surge is seen in newly reported coronavirus cases. Countries from North America, South America, Asia, and some parts of Africa are reporting more and more cases every day. The United States, Brazil, and India are the top 3 most adversely affected countries.

The past two days have seen record highs. A day before yesterday, that is 9th July, 223,640 new coronavirus cases were confirmed globally which set a record for the number of reported infections in a single day. Yesterday, even more cases were confirmed across the globe as a new record for a one-day tally of COVID-19 cases was made.  236,918 new cases were reported yesterday.

Several countries have seen a spike in the number of new covid cases as lockdown restrictions have lifted and businesses are being reopened. As of today, over 12,647,033 coronavirus cases and 563,261 covid-related deaths have occurred worldwide.
