World sets daily record for new Coronavirus cases
- On Friday, a record 194,190 new coronavirus cases were reported globally. It's the highest one-day tally for the virus yet.
According to Worldometer website, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics , a surge was seen in newly confirmed cases across the globe yesterday. The site has a dedicated category for real-time stats on Coronavirus disease.
Yesterday's tally has eclipsed the previous one-day record of new COVID cases set on 19th June when 182,209 people were tested positive. Recently, a spike is seen in new coronavirus infections worldwide. World Health Organization also warned the public this week that the number of new cases was increasing at an alarming rate and by the end of this week the tally of COVID cases will exceed 10 million mark.
