Pakistan Reports A Record 153 COVID-19 Deaths In One Day
In the last 24 hours, Pakistan reported a record 153 COVID-19 deaths. This is so far the country's highest one-day death tally due to the viral disease. So far 3,382 Pakistanis have succumbed to COVID-19.
Novel Coronavirus has been rampant in Pakistan as 6,604 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours taking the total cases to 171,666. As the number of newly reported cases in the country had been decreasing for the past five days consecutively, so this sudden increase is worrisome.
Pakistan is currently placed at 13th position in global COVID-19 cases' rankings. Due to a surge of COVID cases in recent weeks in the country, the PTI government has sealed several hotspots across the country.
Experts believe that Pakistan is yet to attain its COVID-19 peak, so the numbers are expected to increase. A couple of weeks ago, Prime Minister Imran Khan also warned the nation that Coronavirus cases in Pakistan will peak in July- August.
So if our nation wants to flatten the COVID curve soon, it's imperative that we properly follow the government's guidelines, wear masks, practice social distancing, and take special care in maintaining good personal hygiene.
