Imran Farooq murder case: ATC hands life imprisonment to key suspects
An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday sentenced all three accused to life imprisonment in the murder case of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Imran Farooq, who was killed nine years ago in London.
According to details, Judge Shahrukh Arjumand announced the reserved verdict in Dr Imran Farooq murder case.
In its verdict, the court sentenced the three accused, Khalid Shamim, Mohsin Ali and Moazzma Ali, to life imprisonment for murdering the MQM leader.
The court also directed all three accused to pay Rs1 million each to Imran Farooq's heirs
It is pertinent to remember that the judgment was reserved on May 21 after the completion of trial. 29 witnesses recorded their statement in the case.
Imran Farooq was a British-Pakistani politician who was best known for his association with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). He lived in London from 1999 until he was murdered in September 2010.
