PPP's Yousaf Raza had appeared in a NAB hearing in Rawalpindi on Thursday in Toshakhana reference. The same reference in which PML-N's founder Nawaz Sharif and PPP's co-chairman Asif Zardari are also accused. NAB issued nonbailable warrants against Nawaz Sharif due to his absence. In the Toshakhana case, the accused parties are indicted for receiving luxury vehicles and gifts from Toshakhana.
Gilani, 67, had requested the judge for a permanent exemption from personal attendance in the court due to soaring cases of COVID-19 and for the fact that several lawmakers had tested positive for the virus. But his request wasn't granted.
Sources say that he has quarantined himself in his house. Family members have asked for prayers for his speedy recovery.
