Earlier this week, an 8-year-old girl by the name of Zohra Shah, passed away after being beaten violently by her employer for setting an expensive set of parrots free. The tragic news was not taken lightly by social media with netizens, members of civil society, and celebrities asking for immediate action against culprits and put an end to child labour.

"ANYONE who has a person working for them in their house who is under the age of 14, & I don’t care if they are your longtime staff members son or daughter whos living with you, you are breaking the law. If you really want to look after that child then send them to school not work!"
