'Diriliş: Ertuğrul' producer wants Pakistan and Turkey to sign 'world-shaking deals' in the field of arts

Dirili?: Ertu?rul, the famous Turkish drama, in Urdu dub has set new records. The serial has attracted applaud and compliments from people of all walks for the grandeur – in which it presents the Islamic history or more specifically history of the Ottoman Empire.

Impressed by the appreciation the series has received in Pakistan, producer of Ertugrul Mehmet Bozdag has expressed the desire to work in collaboration with Pakistan. Speaking to the Anadolu Agency, Mehmet said that Muslim countries should not just maintain good political and trade relations but also work together in the field of arts and humanities.

"I am surprised that we did not make any collaborations till this day because we call each other brother countries,” said Bozdag while referring to the brotherly relations between Turkey and Pakistan and added, "However, we have never signed a deal in the field of culture and arts. So then where is the fellowship?"

"When one of us is in trouble, both countries are mobilized. But we should also do this act on better days and organize days of culture not only in the cinema but also in the field of cuisine, museums, and history. We shall share our experiences with Pakistan and they should share theirs with us, and together we will sign world-shaking deals," Bozdag, who is also the screenwriter for the show, said.

The producer while advocating for the progression of soft diplomacy between the two countries called on businesspeople to invest money in collaborative projects.

The producer also shared his reflections on how he came up with the idea of Ertugrul and logistical difficulties to materialize the project. He wrote down the story at the age of 30 with many at the company giving him a disapproving nod, he told the agency and added that it took him almost a year to come up with the idea of Ertugrul and nine months for actors to train for their characters.

Bozdag holds a degree in history from Sakarya University and has worked on historical projects likes "Dirili?: Ertu?rul", "Kurulu?: Osman", and "The Turks Are Coming..."
