Federal Cabinet congratulates PM on his successful visit to US

The federal cabinet has congratulated Prime Minister Imran Khan on his successful visit to the United States and the role he played in highlighting Pakistan's positive image and dispelling the negative agenda against people of Pakistan.

This was stated by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan while briefing media about the yesterday's meeting of the Federal cabinet, in Islamabad.

She said Prime Minister Imran Khan's US visit was highly successful but the opposition is unable to digest it.

She said the opposition tried to create disturbance in the garb of protest yesterday but their show was flopped as the nation has rejected their negative propaganda and underhand tactics.

The Special Assistant said the Federal cabinet was given a detailed briefing about Pakistan International Airlines and was informed that the national flag career will be pulled out of loss by the end of this year.

She said PIA earned 46 million rupees within two months after its new chairman was appointed on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan to pull it out of loss.

She said PIA revenue was enhanced 22 percent and its expenditure reduced 20 percent under Prime Minister's austerity drive.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said the cabinet was told that the previous rulers misused national flag career PIA from 2008 to 2018 and it suffered 5.5 million rupees due to rerouting of flights.

The Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information urged media to adhere to the PEMRA's code of conduct.

Replying a question about proposal of establishing media courts, she said the proposal was put forward by PEMRA for speedy justice and protection of rights of journalists and media workers like other special courts in the country.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said all the stakeholders will be taken on board in this regard and if the media workers rejected setting up of media courts, the government will discard the idea.

She said ministry of Information will play a role of facilitators and will not impose any decisions on media.

She said Prime Minister Imran Khan has no personal grudge against Nawaz Sharif and the jail manual will be ensured during his imprisonment.
