Karachi police kills five ‘IS terrorists’ in encounter

KARACHI: Five alleged terrorists of militant group Daesh were killed in a police encounter in Karachi on Saturday.

According to SSP Malir Rao Anwar, a police team carried out search operation after getting an intelligence report about the presence of ‘militants’ in Ayub Goth near Superhighway.

'During the search operation, the suspected militants opened fire on the police team which retaliated and killed five terrorists on the spot.'

Anwar told in a press conference that the terrorists were former members of Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent and had later joined Daesh.

"One of the terrorists was identified as Qari Habib alias Abdul Salam Burmi," Rao said.

The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.— PPI
