Web Desk: Pigeons have the ability to discriminate the abstract concept of space and time simultaneously.

An experiment conducted at the University of Lowa, in which pigeons were shown on a computer screen in a static horizontal line had to judge its length and time period.

According to the professor Stuit Professor of Experiment Psychology Edward Wasserman, pigeon use a common area of the brain to judge space and time. Also concludes that, these abstract concepts are not processed separately.

Humans have Parietal cortex to judge time and space, where as birds do not have parietal cortex, so the birds must employ  another area of brain to discriminate between space and time or may be there os a common evolutionary mechanism in the central nervous system shared by early birds.
