Pakistan's defence invincible: Khurram

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence Engr Khurram Dastgir Khan on Monday said Pakistan's defence was invincible as its valiant armed forces had the best capability to defend the motherland.
Pakistan's armed forces, he said, had conducted military exercises with Russian forces to hone their capabilities. Pakistan improved ties with Russia during the government of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, he said speaking in a private news channel programme.
He said Pakistan had been fighting a successful war against terrorism and rendered sacrifices.
The minister said Pakistan launched operations Zarb-e-Azb and Raddul-Fasad and eliminated terrorism from the country. "We have restored peace in the country and cleansed it of terrorists and militants."
He said Pakistan would take all the decisions with the consultation of regional partners. India was a big threat for regional peace, he added.
Khurram Dastgir said India had made violations on the Line of Control (LoC) but Pakistan's forces had given it a befitting response.
Commenting on the statement of United States President Donald Trump against Pakistan, he said America had no policy makers.
China and Russia had given statements in favour of Pakistan, he added.
The minister said the process of dialogue should continue with America as Pakistan wanted peace in Afghanistan.
He said America was disturbed due to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, which was launched by China due to diplomacy of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. The project would open new ways of development and prosperity, he added.
He said China was a all-weather friend of Pakistan, which invested 56 billion dollars through CPEC at the time when no country was ready to invest in Pakistan.—APP
