Controversy urges Wikipedia to lock 'Calibri' font page
WEB DESK: Wikipedia has an edit option where users can edit if they have found some relevant to add to the information already given at the website. Recently, they have locked their page containing information about 'Calibri' font after users reportedly tried to edit its release date from 2007 to 2003.Â
Moreover, recently a probe was carried out by the Joint Investigation Report (JIT) in which it was claimed that the Sharif family had used 'Calibri' font in some of their documents related to 2006, as per reports of local media.
The chaos erupted right after the report was made public as that particular font was made commercially available on 30th January 2007. It is pertinent here to mention that the font 'Calibri' later became top on social media in Pakistan.
In order to confirm the claim made in report, people rushed to Wikipedia's Calibri font page. The people later reportedly tried to edit the information regarding its commercial launch from 2007 to 2003. And reports also said that such editing was made a number of times within less than 24 hours.
However, the administration of Wikipedia locked page from editing, saying,"This article is currently protected from editing until July 18, 2017, or until editing disputes have been resolved."
