WEB DESK: On Wednesday night, Karachiites was discussing some strange smell in diverse parts of the metropolis.Â
The social media platforms was flooded with different sort of comments but actual reason behind unpleasant odour was still unknown until a page titled Weather Updates PK on Facebook updated, "To all members asking about smelly air in Karachi. Its due to eastely wind shift the somalian currents are very strong over arabian sea and due to the Presence of LLC OFF COAST KARACHI , the shift have reached towards upper air levels hence the weird more sea like smell."
Earlier, Weather Updates PK notified about high humidity due to L.L.C.
"Due to a developing Low Level Circulation (L.L.C) High Humidity Levels are likely to effect Karachi and adjoining areas in next 24 hours and will Continue for 48 hours (30th - 1st June-17) Under its influence Temperatures may Rise upto 37'C - 40'C (seasonally Hot temperatures) Where as Feels like Temperature may Rise upto 45-46'C in Karachi. (This is the main concern). Humidity levels may Rise upto 60-75%"
"Therefore WUPK strongly Suggest to take all Necessary Precautions in order to avoid any Related Issues."
We hope that this information enables everyone regarding last night's disgusting smell. However, any statement by Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) yet to be made in this regard.
