LAHORE: Former Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPP-P) candidate Babar Sohail Butt was murdered by unidentified persons, on Monday, Aaj News reported. 

According to police sources, former ticket holder and leader Babar Sohail Butt was presented at his residence when the assailants opened fire at him, injured him severely and ran away immediately.

The former candidate was taken to hospital where he scummed to injuries, reportedly.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, daughter of former president and party's co chairman Asif Ali Zardari tweeted in this regard and hoped that investigation will be conducted and prosecute the accused.
