Hair colouring can increase risk of breast cancer
WEB DESK: Many girls love to do experiments with their hair, they prefers to go with trends and hence colour their hair with different shades. It not only looks beautiful but looks highly fashionable as well.Â
The researchers from University of Helsinki (Finland) and Cancer Registry of Finland conducted a research in this regard and on hormonal contraceptives. However, the results are unfortunately not positive.
The hair dyes can increase the risk of breast cancer, the researcher Sanna Heikkinen evaluated, saying, “the biggest risk factors in breast cancer include late age at first birth, using hair colour, high alcohol consumption and sedentary lifestyle".
The researchers analyzed survey data from 8,000 breast cancer patients along with 20,000 controls from Finland. The results, however, indicates that other hormonal contraceptives was linked with 32% higher breast cancer risk among women under 50 years in comparison with women who did not prefer hormonal contraceptives.
