Government allows screening of Indian movies
WEB DESK: Government of Pakistan allowed screening of Indian films in cinemas and notification in this regard was issued on Tuesday. Â
According to sources, the notification from information ministry was issued after the consent of Premier Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. The decision was taken in order to rejuvenate Pakistan film industry.
However, it would be mandatory for the importers of movie to send a request to Information ministry along with the details of movie, cast and CD of that movie then the request would be sent to commerce ministry regarding NOC to proceed further.
Besides this, the importer will be obliged to get compliance from censor board before the screening of movie.
Sources further revealed that Bollywood movies to be re screened in local cinemas from the next week after the consent from censor board.
Also, the Government would make a simple process for cinema owners regarding the screening of Turkish and Iranian movies.
