An Anti Terrorism Court here Monday awarded death sentence to a woman Perven for burning her daughter Zeenat Rafiq to death who married a man of her choice. The Court also granted life-imprisonment to the brother of the victim woman. Zeenat had come to see them from the home of her husband Hassan Khan.

Hassan Khan, husband of deceased Zeenat Rafiq, had filed complaint against the victim's family with factory area police. On the day of incident, Hassan Khan got information that his in-laws were subjecting his wife to torture. He rushed there along with his father and witnessed that his brother in law Mushtaq and mother-in-law were setting her ablaze. As a result, she received multiple burns and died on the spot. -Business Recorder
