PIA plane incident: French company probe team visits crash site
ISLAMABAD: An investigation team from French company ATR Â visited the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) PK-661Â crash site near Havelian on Tuesday, Aaj News reported.Â
The team comprising French and Canadian nationals, Manufacturing expert, crash scene expert alongside officials from the Safety Investigation Boardarrived in Islamabad on Monday to probe the crash.
Evidence will be collected from the crash site and according to sources the black box of the plane will be taken to France.
47 passengers were killed when PIA PK-661 flight crashed near Havelian while en route to Islamabad from Chitral on Wednesday 7th December, 2016. Technical issues were the cause of the incident reportedly.
On Monday PIA grounded its 10 remaining ATR turboprop planes for thorough testing in the wake of the crash and another incident in which a plane was recalled to its parking bay after experiencing a fault just before take off at Multan airport.
