China's envoy says 10,000 local people given CPEC jobs
A website www.cpec.pk of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was launched here on Tuesday. The launching ceremony was held in the federal capital.Â
Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong and others participated in the ceremony. Addressing the ceremony, Sun Weidong said, "The CPEC is a long-term project and we should evaluate everything on the scientific lines for its efficient implementation."
He said Silk Road Spirit is aimed at peace, co-operation, mutual learning, benefits, and win-win outcome. The Chinese Ambassador said that CPEC is a major and pilot project of 'One Belt, One Road' initiative had been proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013.
He said, "China has already established the Silk Road Bank and Asia Infrastructure Bank to strengthen co-operation of the both countries over CPEC projects.
He further said that 10,000 local people had gained jobs through 17 projects of the CPEC. The Chinese Ambassador also appreciated the efforts of Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed in promoting China-Pakistan friendship.
Mushahid Hussain Sayed said the website would be used to pass on information to the general masses with respect to CPEC projects and to clear misconceptions about these projects. He said the whole country would reap the benefits of the CPEC projects, adding that Pakistan is ready to face the challenges in completion of these projects.
