Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said his government inherited institutions that were in totally disarray.

He said the previous governments used to interfere in these institutions and were thus politicized.

There was a total mismanagement and decisions used to be made at whims not at merit. The present government started reforms for re-origination of public sector institutions making them in consonance with the public aspirations, he added.

He was presenting over a meeting on Local government for disbursing of resources making the local government system more powerful in the province. Provincial Minister Muhammad Atif Khan, MPA Sardar Idress, Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan and administrative secretaries attended.

The CM also received delegations, local party's workers and MPAs and he spoke about the government achievements. Chief Minister said that resources for village and neighbourhood councils District and Tehsil and Town have been released by the government under provincial finance commission formula.

Pervez Khattak said that our efforts led to the achievements of our rights. We hope the federal government would not go back of its promise and commitments made with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

He said when his government got to power it observed that the previous government had left everything wrong and all institutions were politicized.

His government started focusing on corrective measures to put these institutions on right track. At the outset, our efforts were resisted but we succeeded because of our will and commitment to reforms.

Enumerating his government achievements within a short span of three years, Chief Minister said we started raising the standard of education in public sector institutions, reformed the health sector.

Our list of achievements is long and we will take it further. We succeeded in uncapping the Rs 6 billion caped money of royalty on power generation to 18 billion and WAPDA will clear our 88 billion dues. Chasma lift irrigation scheme has been approved that will cost Rs 120 Billion. We will get our share of 13% in the power.

An agreement has been concluded with the federal government that will protect our share in CPEC. Pervez Khattak said his government was chosen for a change and he was sensitive to his responsibilities and was accountable to the people.

Rest assured his government will work for the people welfare, ensure merit in the decision making process and reform the system.
