Unity of stakeholders a must to tackle terrorism: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday prevailing situation in the country required unity of all stakeholders, including provincial governments, against the menace of terrorism.

He was talking to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Parvaiz Khattak, who called on him at the PM House here. Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar and Senior Minister KP Siraj-ul-Haq were also present in the meeting.

The Prime Minister said the federal government valued the contributions of all provincial governments towards strengthening the federation and understood the problems faced by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government regarding tackling terrorism.

The meeting also discussed the development activities being carried out in the KP.

The Prime Minister said the federal government would provide support to the provincial government in order to overcome the problems.

He also directed the Finance Minister to hold threadbare discussions with the KP Chief Minister and other officials of the provincial government on the issues being faced by them.
