Sartaj to focus on bringing US investment in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: Economist Dr. Ashfaq Hassan has said that Advisor Sartaj Aziz will focus on bringing American investment in Pakistan in the form of privatization during strategic dialogue in Washington.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said that holding of US-Pak Strategic Dialogue is important as new ministers will get to know the views of US administration on different issues and to share their future plan also.
He said: "I am not much optimistic about resolution of all issues in single interaction, however, both sides will definitely learn about each other".
He said I think that economic revival is at the top agenda item of Nawaz Sharif government and I am sure that Sartaj Aziz, who had been finance minister, is quite well aware of economic problems of Pakistan and other security related challenges, will focus on promotion of bilateral trade with US".
He added that if Pakistan gets some kind of incentive like GSP Plus from US, it will be helpful in increasing Pakistani exports to US.
Moreover, US can also support Pakistan to overcome energy crisis.
