Senate body expresses concern over delay in maintenance work of LPG plant
ISLAMABAD: Senate Functional Committee on Problems of Less Developed Areas Monday expressed concerns over the delay in the maintenance work of LPG Air Max Plant at Noshki.
The meeting chaired by Mir Muhammad Yousaf Badini, chairman of the committee.
Senators, Nisar Khan, Khalida Perveen, Ahmed Ahsan and Abul Rauf also attended the meeting.
The committee directed SNGPL and SSGPL to soon complete work on the Noshki LPG Air Max plant to facilitate the people.
The committee said that Utility Stores Corporations (USC) is the organization to provide standard and affordable edible items to the people of far flung areas.
The committee expressed displeasure over the quality of edibles available in USC, adding that in most of the areas of Balochistan province this facility is not available. The committee directed USC authorities to improve the quality of food items.
The committee said that there is no representation of Balochistan province in USC. The committee demanded that residents of other provinces who got jobs on fake domiciles of Balochistan in USC should be expelled.
The committee decided to take action against the corrupt officials in USC and also invite TCP and ministry of Trade and Commerce official in next meeting.
Earlier, Managing Director USC briefed the committee, he said that inquiry being in process against the people who got jobs on fake domiciles of Balochistan.
He said that a dozen corrupt officials suspended from USC on allegations of corruption.
