Sindh Festival: Cultural emergency declared by Bilawal Bhutto

KARACHI: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairman declared 'cultural emergency' in Pakistan.

In his speech he said that Sindhi culture is currently insecure and we need to take diligent acts to protect our culture.

“The Sindh Festival will make us aware of our existence,’ he said as he appeared on television screens in an advertising campaign on Tuesday.

He urged that this festival will bring Moenjodaro and Malki back in our culture and life.

In his advertising campaign, he said that due to this existing threat on our culture, we are arranging this festival.

“I am reaching out to you to seek your help,” he said.

This festival will start in the month of February and its celebrations would be held across Sindh. Even those archaeological sites, whose access have been backed out like Moenjodaro and Malki; this festival would be arranged there.

“This will be the beginning of our annual cultural festivities. This is the sign of our progress. This is the first step towards the protection of our cultural centres,” he added.

Bilawal said; “we were civilised 5,000 years ago, which they (militants) are far from even today. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari repeated “Marsoon Marsoon, Sindh Na Daisun.”
