‘There are 283 feeders with more than 50pc line losses in KPK’
ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali informed the Senate on Wednesday that there were 283 feeders in Khyber PakhtunKhwa (KPK) having line losses of more than 50 percent.
Responding to a question, the minister said the government was bearing a loss of Rs 1.5 million per day through these feeders.
He said the government, since its inception, had added 1700 Megawatt in the system besides paying huge amount in clearing the Circular Debt.
Sher Ali said all the provinces were equal for the federal government as every citizen has equal right over the resources.
Replying to another question he said, as many as 187,126 numbers of employees were working in Distribution Companies (DISCOs), GENCOs and NTDCL, consuming free electricity entitled to them as per their BPS.
He said the facility was being provided to the aforementioned employees as part of the incentives being given to the employees of other state departments as well.
