KARACHI: A powerful blast targeting SSP CID Chaudhry Aslam's Car has killed Chaudhry Aslam and three police officers near Essa Nagri bridge here on Thursday, Aaj news reported.

According to initial reports, ten people have been injured in a powerful explosion occurred near Essa Nagri bridge. The sound of blast was heard several miles away from the site of incident.

Pakistan Tehreek e Taliban took responsibility for the bomb attack targeting Chaudhry Aslam's car that took place in Karachi near Essa Nagri bridge.

The blast also destroyed several cars, motorbikes and shattered the windows of nearly located shops and buildings.

Soon after the incident, police cordoned off the area while rescue teams arrived at the place of incident and shifted injured people to the nearest hospital.

After the blast, tension prevails in the area.
