Ordinance issued to defend Gilani’s decisions

ISLAMABAD: A presidential ordinance was issued in order to veil the decisions taken by former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. The ordinance was passed on Sunday and it would provide constitutional defense to all decisions taken by the former PM.

The ordinance is issued in order to provide protection to the former PM’s decision taken during April 26 – June 19 (the period during which the former PM was disqualified by the Supreme Court). According to the ordinance, the decisions taken by the former PM during April 26 – June 19 could not be challenged.

The ordinance has been passed in order to address the appeals filed to annul Gilani’s decision taken during the concerned period.
