"We would not let democracy to derail" - PM Gilani
MARDAN: While addressing a public gathering in Mardan on Saturday, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, stated that he along with his party would not let democracy to derail amid many conspiracies against the ruling government.
Gilani further added that conspiracies commenced since Pakistan Peoples Party took over the government. "A plot was there to stop us from presenting the fifth budget and from carrying out the senate elections," said Gilani.
"People say that we do not respect institutions within the country; the ones criticizing us should know that when they were in Jeddah, PPP was here with the nation," Gilani further added.
Talking about institutions, Gilani said that institutions were empowered by the PPP after restoring the 1973 constitution. He also said that conspiracies were regularly carried out against the government but PPP would never let 'democracy to derail'.
