The upcoming local bodies election of Punjab will be held on a non-party nomination basis. Aaj News reported.

The Punjab Cabinet has decided to hold the local bodies election and approved the Local Government Ordinance, 2012.

Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif chaired the provincial cabinet meeting, today in Lahore.

The Cabinet approved the Mayor and Deputy Commissioner systems and  decided that women will get 33 per cent quota in Local Government whereas Youth representation will also get a 5 per cent quota in the government.
