Handful of people can not make parliament hostage: PM
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilaini Tuesday said, some politicians who are not the elected representatives, can not make the parliament hostage.
Talking to the media persons in Islamabad Tuesday, criticizing the attitude of leaders of Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf he said in the national politics these leaders did not have any sanctity and honour for the elected parliament.
The Prime Minister said as Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan are not members of the parliament, therefore they do not understand the sanctity and importance of the house.
He said due to the infighting between the PML (N) and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf, the nation should not suffer and it should move forward.
He said the nation is fully aware of the performance of Pakistan Muslim League (N) adding that it got power twice but failed to deliver. PML-N only want to be in power they can not work for the nation.
Federal government will try to give every relief to the nation in the upcoming budget.
Parliamentary system is important not the Prime Minister. Elected government should complete its tenure. People who appeal against the speaker's decision are wasting their time they can not derail the democracy, he added.
Answering to a question, Gilani replied some non-serious people are misleading people over NATO supply the decision will be taken on the approval of Parliament.
