Pakistan team reach Colombo today; first T20 on June 1

COLOMBO: Pakistan cricket will arrive at Colombo International Airport today. Aaj News reported.

The Pakistan squad left for Colombo on late Sunday night for a much awaited tour of Sri Lanka, where they will be playing two T20 Internationals, five ODIs, and three Tests, respectively.

The upcoming tour  is considered a key series for both Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan, banking on their impressive record will try to produce good results on Sri Lankan soil. Whereas, Sri Lanka who maintain a staggering win rate on home grounds, have everything to loose; giving reason for a nail biting competition between the two teams.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka met last year, in the UAE where Pakistan almost white-washed Sri Lanka by loosing only one ODI in the series. Later, in March both teams came face to face again, in the qualifying rounds of the Asia Cup, where Sri Lanka once again faced defeat at the hand of Pakistan's lethal bowling attack.

Two T20 matches will be played on Friday, June 1 and on Sunday June 3, at Suriyawewa Stadium. Five ODIs will be played from June 7 till June 18 at Premadassa and Pallekele Int Stadiums, while three Test matches will be played at Galle Int Stadium, SSC Grounds and Pallekele int Stadium,  starting from June 22.

Mohammad Hafeez will captain the Pakistan T20 squad while Misbah-Ul-Haq will resume his captaincy in Tests and One Day Internationals.
