Unregistered cars in Balochistan to be seized within 15 days
QUETTA: Chief Justice, Iftikhar Chuadhry, has stated that unregistered cars within the province of Balochistan should be seized within 15 days. the Chief Justice made this statement while addressing the "Balochistan unrest" hearing on Monday.
The Chief Justice directed the Interior Secretary, Secretary Defence, Principal Secretary to Governor Balochistan and the Principal Secretary to CM Balochistan to appear before the Court.
During the hearing of the "unrest" case, CJ put forward his remarks, asking the Governor and the Chief Minister about the province's situation.
"We knocked the doors of all the authorities and agencies, but no one came forward with any explanation with respect to the unrest within Balochistan," stated Iftikhar Chaudhry.
With respect to the issue of unregistered cell phones SIMs, the Court instructed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to solve the matter.
"If the Police tries, it can restore peace and stability within the region," said Chaudhry.
Interior Secretary, in his answer to the court, stated that the government was organizing a "Grand Jirga" in order curb sectarianism within the province. The "Grand Jirga" would consist an approximate number of 150 religious scholars.
