Pakistan hockey team will play four test matches in June: PHF
Secretary of Pakistan Hockey Federation, Mohammad Asif Bajwa stated, that Pakistan senior hockey team will play four test matches in June, in different parts of Europe for its preparation for London Olympics.
He said the team after taking part in Azlan Shah Cup will return home on June 5 and then proceed to Europe to play two test matches in Germany, one in Belgium and one in Holland.
Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) said, “These matches have been given the status of official test matches and through these ties our team would be able to get sufficient high profile practice to give final touches to its preparations for London Olympicsâ€.
Mohammad Asif Bajwa said, “After the completion of Europe tour a 16-member squad will be named for Olympicsâ€. He further said, “Pak team will be having two-week trainingcamp at home before flying to England on July 11 to have a 10-day training programme in Birminghamâ€.
“Our youngsters put up very good performance and it was unfortunate that they could not win the final against Malaysiaâ€. “Pak hockey futures banks on our junior players and I am confident that they would be an asset for the country in years to comeâ€, he added.
