Award Winning: Social worker Mrs Sughra Solangi beaten, threatened
KHAIRPUR: An FIR has been registered against at least 30 people for the abuse and victimization of Mrs Sughra Solangi.
Mrs Solangi is a social worker and currently working at an NGO called Marvi Rural Development Organization (MRDO)Â that helps educating women in rural villages and towns, she was victimized by miscreants with links to the feudal elements of Khairpur and was given death threats.
In 2011, Mrs Sughra Solangi was awarded International Women of Courage Awards by the first lady of United States, Michelle Obama and Secretary of state Hillary Clinton, for her excellent effort in  educating women and girls who are deprived of any kind of exposure to academics or education their whole lives.
According to her, at least 30 people barged into her house and started beating her and her son and threatened to kill both of them.
"We haven't slept for the whole night, they beat my child too", she said.
A case has been registered with the area's court registry.
