Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira Thursday said Prime Minister Gilani’s visit to the United Kingdom will deepen and widen the multifaceted ties between the two countries.

The Information Minister said Prime Minister Gilani had a very important meeting with the British parliamentarians on Wednesday and said it would go a long way in building deeper ties between the parliamentarians of two countries.

He said Prime Minister Gilani would hold vital talks on the Enhanced Strategic Dialogue with the British counterpart that covers important areas of health, education and security.He mentioned the meetings of Prime Minister earlier in the day with Secretaries of Energy and Home and said it would enhance cooperation between the two countries in fighting extremism and terrorism. He said it would also help boost cooperation in the area of energy sector.

With respect to the rumors of a shortened tour by the PM, Kaira stated that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani was not cutting his visit short; baseless rumors were being spread in that respect.
