Rally wars begin as PPP plans public rally in reply of PML-N

After Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) announced its plan for a grand march to remove the Prime Minister from office on 12 May. The Pakistan Peoples Party has also announced a public rally in reply of the PML-N rally on, 12 May.

On Sunday afternoon, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, chaired PPP's Sindh Council meeting, at the Circuit house in Ghotki.

Prominent PPP figures including Federal and provincial ministers, Nisar Khuhro, Agha Siraj Durrani, Shazia Marri, Jaam Saifullah Dharejo and Khursheed Ahmed Shah were present in the meeting, along with various general secretaries and presidents of Pakistan Peoples Party.

As the meeting concluded, the decision to stage a Public rally on 12 May was unveiled.

Speaker Sindh Assembly Khursheed Ahmed Shah, said that the Nawaz Sharif is forcing people to take out rallies for his own benefits, country's welfare was not a priority for them, he said.

He remarked, that leading a protest against the PPP led government was a sign of PML-N's weakness.

The Sharif brothers came to power because of President Zardari's persuasion to participate in the elections after Shaheed Benazir Bhutto's assassination, but after coming to power, the PML-N has done nothing but disrupt PPP's efforts to help the people and work for the welfare of the country, he added.

The PPP rally will be staged at Kamoon Shaheed in Ubauro, located near the outskirts of Punjab-Sindh border.
