Karachi: PIA flight lands after alleged hijacking claim
A Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight that departed from Karachi for Bhawalpur, has been called back to Karachi airport amid hijacking claims, on board.
The call was made when an on board passenger claimed that the plane is vulnerable to hijacking, to which the captain of the plane decided to return and land the plane in Karachi as a safety measure.
PIA spokesman says that the situation inside the aircraft is calm and everyone is safe and sound inside the plane which is currently on Jinnah International Airport's runway.
According to a PIA source, the person who had claimed the hijacking, might be mentally unstable.
Emergency preparations have been made and ambulances and fire brigades are prepared if needed.
