MQM demands local body elections in Sindh
President Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari met a delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement MQM, at Bilawal House today, in which the MQM delegation demanded president Zardari to conduct an early local body elections in Sindh.
In the high level meeting, President Asif Ali Zardari met with the coalition partners to discuss and review the law and order situation of Sindh, specially Karachi.
Majority of the PPP leadership including Int Minister Rehman Malik, CM Qaim Ali Shah and Agha Siraj Durrani along with HM Manzoor Wassan was present in the meeting. Where as Senator Shahi Syed was present from Awami National Party and Governor Ishrat-ul-Ibad along with his fellow MQM leaders Farooq Sattar, Babar Ghouri and Raza Haroon, were present at the meeting representing the MQM.
According to the statements the coalition partners will support president Zardari to improve the law and order situation in the province and contest the next elections by the President's side.
After the meeting, Raza Haroon of MQM revealed that their delegation demanded President Zardari to conduct local body elections at the earliest of hour.
“The president has issued orders to the chief minister Sindh in this regard,†he added.
