Contempt Case: PM only followed the summaries presented to him, says Aitzaz
The seven member bench of the court, headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk, resumed the hearing against Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani regarding the contempt of court case, on Friday.
During the proceeding case , Prime Minister's counsel, Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, claimed that the Premiere only implemented what the summary presented to him, suggested.
He said that it was not Prime Minister's personal decision, he acted as the summaries directed him to, therefore he cannot be charged with contempt of court for not writing the letter to Swiss administration.
Justice Nasirul Mulk made remarks saying that the Prime Minister was accountable for not writing the letter to the Swiss Authorities.
Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said that Aitzaz Ahsan should at least accept that the Prime Minister was aware of court's order before he was charged with contempt of court.
To which Aitzaz Ahsan accepted that the Premiere was made aware of it.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was charged with contempt of court over failing to write a letter to authorities in Switzerland for over two years, asking them to re-open corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.
