K-E diet approach: Instant weight loss using feeding tubes
A controversial diet approach has been introduced within the United States and it is merely considered to be useful for brides who wish to give themselves finishing touches in order to wear their desired “dream wedding gownâ€.
The divisive alternative diet approach to crash dieting, known as the K-E diet, involves a feeding tube that is inserted into the nose for almost 10 days for a quick fix to speedy weight loss.
The K-E diet involves a feeding tube to be inserted within the nose which runs down to the stomach of an individual, providing constant slow drips of protein and fat, mixed with water, containing zero carbohydrates and totaling 800 calories a day. “Body fat is burned off through a process called ketosis, which leaves muscle intactâ€, stated Dr. Oliver Di Pietro of Bay Harbor Islands, Fla.
"It is a hunger-free, effective way of dieting," Di Pietro said. "Within a few hours and your hunger and appetite go away completely, so patients are actually not hungry at all for the whole 10 days. That's what is so amazing about this diet." He further stated that the side-effects of this diet approach is bad breath and constipation as there is no fiber intake within the body.
The K-E diet is considered to discard 20 pounds within 10 days and brides who want a quick fix usually choose this diet approach in order to fit into their “dream wedding gownsâ€.
Although the K-E diet has just made its way into the United States, it has been prevalent within the European region.
Critics are of the view that such a diet plan would have severe negative effects and individuals suffering from kidney issues should totally avoid such diet plan.
Psychoanalysts are of the view that such a diet would definitely reduce the weight of an individual but it would be difficult for the mind to catch up with a new skinnier personality.
