Mother gives birth to a six-legged baby: Sukkur
SUKKUR: The wife of an X-ray technician gave birth to a baby boy with six legs in Sukkur on 13th April, 2012. The baby and the mother were both in healthy and stable condition. "There is nothing to worry about both, the mother and the baby boy", doctors said. However, the management of the Hospital took extra care of the baby in order to prevent him from various infections.
According to sources, Father of the baby boy, Imran Sheikh was worried for his newborn baby, but at the same time was happy on having a gift of God.
According to reports from different sources, Imran Sheikh’s monthly income is around 6000 Pakistani Rupees. Therefore, it was impossible for him to get his child treated in one of the good hospitals within the country. He had appealed to the Government of Pakistan, seeking help with respect to his child's treatment.
Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat ul Ebad took notice of this issue and the baby has been transferred to National Institute of Child Health (NICH) on Monday in Karachi.
“Body parts of the baby is conjoined and surgery for treatment could be very complex, but the baby could be operated and if required we would call foreign expert doctors†stated Dr. Jamal Raza of NICH.
Doctors are terming it a very rare and complicated case, the odds of such cases occur 1 in 100,000 only.
