MQM to see extortionists eliminated

The Deputy Convener Muttahida Quami Movement and Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr. Farooq Sattar has maintained that MQM wants elimination of menace of extortion and extortionists.

The extortionist have made the life of law abiding people miserable and MQM will continue its protest inside and outside the parliament, he said while talking to media persons before attending Sindh Itehad Conference as chief guest here on Friday evening.

Responding to a question, Dr. Farooq Sattar said MQM do not need any certificate from any one and it cares for oppressed people. Replying to another question on Balochistan, Dr. Farooq Sattar said that due to peculiar circumstances, issue has become most sensitive and there is dire need for a peaceful resolution of issues.

He said that 18th, 19th and 20th Amendments of the Constitution have been passed with announcement of Aghaz-e-Huqooq-e-Balochistan Package and passage of 7th National Finance Commission Award, but delay prevented desired results in Balochistan.

The provinces have still not received their rights even after the passage of 18th Amendment in the Constitution, he said and added that MQM Chief Altaf Hussain had already appealed to resolve the issue of Balochistan through dialogue with annoyed Baloch leaders. Dr. Farooq Sattar also emphasized the need of the removal of sense of deprivation of Sindh province adding that in case of failure, Balochistan like situation could prevail in other provinces of the country.

He said that MQM is representing the poor masses of the country and demanding for bringing economic reforms in the country. The MQM has complete programme of addressing the issues of the common people, he added. Among others, leader of Jiay Sindh Qaumi Muhaz Abdul Wahid Arisar, columnist Arbab Naik Muhammad and MQM leader Ashfaq Mangi were also present on the occasion.
