President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday said that the successful completion of the Senate elections in a challenging time and emergence of the coalition partners with overwhelming majority in the Upper House were positive steps towards institutional stability and strengthening democracy and Parliament and that the democracy has taken firm roots in the country.The President said this during his interaction with the senators of PPP and allied parties at a dinner hosted for them at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday night.Chairman Senate, Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Deputy Chairman Senate, Sabir Baloch , Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Mir Israrullah Zehri were also present.
