“Bugti committed suicide”: Musharraf

According to a local newspaper, Former President Pakistan and ex army chief turned politician, Pervez Musharraf claimed that Baloch leader Akbar Bugti was not killed but instead had committed suicide.

Holding India responsible for the problems in Balochistan, he said that a few people in Balochistan are conspiring to destabilize the whole country and those people need to be dealt with firmly.

“The country was on the verge of disaster and then I introduced the ‘real democracy’,” he added.

While on the other side of the issue, a Baloch nationalist leader Harbiyar Marri dismissed Pervaiz Musharraf’s claims about Bugti suicide, saying that this is just an escape tactic of Musharraf after committing crimes against the Baloch people for almost a decade.

Speaking about the red warrant, issued on his name recently, he said the he is not an "ordinary person" and isn't afraid of any red-warrant.

The APML chief seemed adamant on coming back to Pakistan in the next general elections. He said that the date of his arrival will be confirmed after discussion and consultation with his party's leadership.
