Railways Minister Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour said on Thursday that drivers had called off their strike on assurance that their issue would be resolved soon.

The minister who was talking to the mediapersons at Railways Headquarters said strike of the drivers was illegal but the government had taken their issue seriously. He said the drivers issue was related to the finance ministry which will be resolved soon.

Earlier, PR drivers observed strike for about four hours and the train operation remained suspended. After negotiation between the leaders of locomotive staff and the minister train operation was restored.
