Parliament to decide new terms of future relations with US: FM

Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Wednesday said the Parliament would decide on the terms of future relations with United States and issue of NATO supply to Afghanistan.

Talking to newsmen here, she said that Pakistan had diplomatic relations with the US and added that Pakistan wanted to have bilateral relations with all the countries on equal basis.

The Foreign Minister further said strong relations with the US were in favour of Pakistan. She said the joint session of the Parliament would be held very soon to discuss the future terms and conditions for the relations with the United States.

Regarding the delay in the joint session of the Parliament, the Foreign Minister said it was delayed due to Senate elections which would be completed by March 12 and it was decided that the joint session would be held after the completion of these elections.

Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar said Pakistan has the policy to have friendly relations with all the countries on equal basis with mutual interest and mutual benefit. Replying to another question she said Pakistan maintains minimum nuclear deterrence.
