ICC gives green light for ODIs in Pakistan
The International Cricket executives committee hinted that International Cricket could be brought back to Pakistan, during their two-day meeting going on in Dubai.
While speaking to the press, The ICC committee said a law that restricts makes neutral umpires necessary for an international match, can be suspended, so that a mutually proposed Cricket series can be conducted between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The CEC said that if both countries feel the need to suspend such a law then a special recommendation could be made to the ICC board, which will insure the security of neutral officials and bring back cricket in Pakistan.
A delegation of Bangladeshi cricket officials visited Pakistan this week to review the security plan and official matter regarding their team's tour to Pakistan.
Haroon Lorgat, the ICC Chief Executive, said: “Bearing in mind that safety and security is the sole responsibility of individual Member Board’s for bilateral matches, the CEC regarded this as an exceptional circumstance in which the appointment to matches of non-neutral match officials could be justified but stated clearly that it should not to be regarded as a preferred option or precedent if the dispensation were to be granted.â€
